Black Rage: Whiteness and the Continued Socialization of White People- Part 2

Where do we go from here: Is it ever going to be possible to live freely without the constant onslaught of mental, physical and emotional violence that is inflicted on Black bodies? It would definitely require massive effort and sacrifice and a resolute unwillingness to stand down. What are we willing to do? Would we be willing to divest from a society that doesn't respect our humanity? What would or should that action look like? (Part I)

Undoing the damage requires more resistance. 

Life in Black skin in our current society means to live knowing that there could possibly never be a time that we can relax in our lifetime. Exhausting. The white supremacy imperialistic society that we have is one that hopes that we will become so tired that we give up and concede. White supremacists and by extension whiteness doesn't see Black humanity. Which is what makes it incomprehensible for them to understand that our humanity is what will continue to drive us to fight to have lives that include the agency, equality, equity and freedom all people deserve.

Cutting the cord with whiteness which is continually perpetuated by all of us is an action that too many of us aren't willing or ready to do. It would put most of us in the precarious position of having to choose to give up seemingly happy and comfortable lives. But if that perceived happiness requires us to conform to and sacrifice being our whole selves, due to the racist restrictions that are placed on our lives in order to prosper in this society, then is life really that happy or comfortable.

Complacency is an extremely dangerous mindset if living while Black. "If they just stay over there and leave me and mine alone" is a sentiment that is heavily ingrained within the Black community-- because it was required for our very survival-- but that attitude has devolved over time and created a dead end for all of us. There is no real escape if we continue this way because white supremacy will continue coming for us. We represent the "great" life that they could have if only we would make it easier on them and consent to be slaves.

None of us could ever imagine living the lives of our ancestors that were kidnapped from their homeland and brought here and to many other countries around the world. And yet that could be the future that we leave our children if we don't stop excusing white people's need and desire to remain unaware and unaffected by their actions. Stop choosing to cover them and challenge them on every racist, capitalistic, imperialistic and murderous degradation that they inflict on those who can't easily check their preferred box of white. No matter what box we check, choices and actions that preserve white supremacy are not evolved or humane.

Education, Economics, Health and Autonomy

I was born in Chicago and lived there until the age of 12. Most of my accessible memory of living in Chicago is from the time we lived in Morgan Park in a diverse neighborhood that was filled with Black people. Until this day I still remember the phone number because it was at a time in my life when I was expected to know critical information that would keep me informed and safe. It was a wonderful time but the area had its limitations. 

A busted furnace created some problems but it also created an opportunity for me to experience a predominantly Black elementary school for the 5th grade. Black teachers were everywhere I looked; there was morning assembly with the Black national anthem and posters along the hallways and in classrooms of people who had done great things and looked like me. Sure, my parents exposed me to some Black history information but to be immersed in it in a place where I spent the better part of my day was extremely affirming. What Black child could not use more of that? I went back to my former school for my last year in Chicago, completely engaged and critically aware of my surroundings.

We need our own schools and programs that combine an African Diaspora education with an improved secular educational system. An education beginning in elementary that includes Black histories around the world. An education that focuses on math, arts, sciences (including geography), and languages being taught by people that respect them, prioritize them and look like them. I am convinced that this is the primary way that our children will have great futures. 

What better choice than to give our children an education that includes critical awareness. To know that there is more to who we are than the dissected history and propagandized treatments that white supremacy chooses to emphasize. To give in to the truth that we are more than the meager existence that we have managed to cobble together in spite of them. To believe that we are more when we are united around the world. A mission like this would eventually overturn current society and create an enormous obstacle for those who would try keep us down.

Black Rage: Whiteness and the Continued Socialization of White People- Part I

For close to six hundred years, depending on the author, whiteness has been committing torturous acts of violence against Black bodies around the world for pleasure and for profit. So for our current safety and our children's futures let's no longer remain willfully unaware. Let us no longer subscribe to the idea that white people will ever willingly stop because they see the horror in what they have done and continue to do. Denial is a great life preserver. Values and morals be damned... to the victor goes the spoils.

"Decolonization of the mind" is a phrase often used in reference to an affected person's need to undo the damage that came from the horrendous legacy of trauma, contempt and subjugation created by Europeans toward Black bodies. I hate the word d-e-c-o-l-i-n-i-z-a-t-i-o-n because it is a derivative of the word colonize which is a non-specific intentionally diluted word which unfortunately is now synonymous with progress in many minds. 

It is very difficult and very dangerous to live in a world that does not see you as a human being that deserves agency and autonomy. We are again living in a time where Black bodies need to be noticeably and violently eliminated because we are no more than uncooperative impediments to the sustainability of whiteness. When we are not solely for their personal benefit we serve no purpose. "Life was so much better and easier when they just let us own them", they cry. 

The treacherous society around the world due to white supremacy has created a corrosive living environment based. on. skin. tone. There is quite literally nowhere that Black people can go and not experience racism. "We don't feel safe", they cry. But they're not the ones constantly being terrorized wherever they go. Whiteness' incessant need to be "the best", "the first", "the one in control" has caused enormous amounts of ongoing tragedy around the world but Black people are considered the bottom of society???

America is the same as it has always been toward Black people. Its racist systemic laws and practices meant to consistently undermine, demean and condemn Black people to lives lived under constant scrutiny and forced subjugation are its foundation. In a country that white people stole and subjected to 400+ years of murder, slavery, propaganda and appropriation; I am at a loss as to why far too many Black people would care to be seen as understanding in any way towards a white supremacist culture.  

We are living in the 21st century and we are still dealing with the heinous creation that is white supremacy in a way that is more about coaxing and coddling white people into doing the right thing and less about destroying the foundation that continues it. I am tired and over it. I want white people to be uncomfortable and to feel unsafe because it is exactly the life that the have inflicted upon Black people and others for centuries. Maybe that feeling will motivate its accelerated destruction. Doubtful. Whiteness has to be intentionally and systematically dismantled. 

Our disconnectedness and complacent choice to be indifferent towards the lack of humanity and socialization within white culture are the reasons why we are still dealing with the complete disregard for our lives and the lives of our children. We continue to allow violence against us to be portrayed as benign when we choose to be civil and understanding. Whiteness has never been civil! 

No more Black people losing their lives for general purpose. That means all Black lives matter.  

  

Have Some Nigger Cake: The Impossibility of "Revamping" Derogatory References

My post yesterday was a very labored one because there was so much anger going on while I was writing it that I had to edit a lot of my first thoughts.  I wanted to convey my anger, disappointment and revulsion about Makode Linde's decision to create a racist cake "sculpture" (that depicted a racist caricature of a Black woman in black face) without distracting from emphasizing his assault on Black female identity as his means to an end.

I will not presume to know what Mr. Linde was thinking when he decided to start creating a series of blackface art".  But I will say that there is not one part of me that believes that he didn't know what he was doing when he created that repulsive cake that has now been circling the internet as "the Nigger cake".

He was obviously trying to be provocative but it was at Black women's expense and somehow I don't think that showing insensitivity towards women is a positive when you're supposedly addressing the horror of female genital mutilation (which occurs in places other than Africa), as he stated originally.  His creation has allowed yet another degrading image to become attributed to Black female identity.  All Black people should be angry about that, not just Black women.

Mr. Linde, a 30-year-old Swede with an African father, explained that the screaming cake was part of a series of works he calls “Afromantics.” His intention for the works, he said, is “revamping the blackface into a new historical narrative and sort of lifting invisible prejudice to an exaggerated level, where it’s becoming over-obvious and in a way more in your face and easier to talk about.”

He initially said that he created the cake as a way to bring attention to female mutilation and now he wants to "revamp blackface" so that we have new and improved racist imagery to deal with as Black people.  (Gee, Thanks.)  There is no way to revamp blackface or the word nigger for a more palatable consumption.  They will always incite anger and pain because they represent the rabid hate that is an atrocious reflection and indictment on our white supremacist society.

Mr. Linde also said, “In my art, I’m more like questioning the different images of blackness. I’m not illustrating real black identity. I am illustrating ideas, or concepts, or patterns that surround ideas about black identity.”      

What questions?!  There has never been a question about why the different racist images or names for Blackness exist in this society.  Mr Linde should be honest and say that he wanted some notoriety by any means necessary (no pun intended).  If he really wants to break new ground for a new historical narrative to draw attention to "invisible prejudices" then he should take the pictures (of all those participatory smiling white faces) from his event and turn that into art.  Of course that art won't be shown in Sweden's Museum of Modern Art, but at least that art would be highlighting the real problem.

Racism is a societal defect that was created by morally and mentally corrupt people.  Mr. Linde can't correct a defect with something defective.  Black face already existed, there was no need for "new black face".

We live in a white supremacist structured world and the only way to combat that is to stop placating white society.  Those that indulge in the cruelties of racism need to be called out on a daily basis if necessary every time that they do.

Apparently Black Woman Mutilation In Black Face Makes Great Art and Dessert

I am so beyond angry and tired of seeing Black males creating and participating in the continued pursuit to crush the Black female identity.  To simply say that I became ill when I saw this garbage on the internet would be a huge understatement.  You want to believe that the males that do this can't possibly be that stupid but they really are.

The diseased mind of Swedish "artist" Makode Linde thought that it was a good idea for him to create a cake in the racist caricature form of a Black woman (with him as the head of the cake in Black face) to draw attention to female genitalia mutilation.  Watching a collective of white people walking around gawking at his creation was completely appalling and reminiscent of the tragic life of Sarah Baartman.  By allowing those grinning white faces in Sweden the opportunity to cut into a cake of his degrading representation of a Black woman, Linde showed the world that he has no respect or empathy for Black women in the process.

His supposed desire to draw attention to the cruelty of female mutilation with this exhibit was lost from the moment he decided to represent the horror of female mutilation with a damn cake!  A cake that was first sliced by the Culture Minister of Sweden, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth (who should be fired) while she grinned and giggled for the cameras and at one point fed Linde some of the cake.

<--Yes they were that stupid, vulgar and insensitive.  Where in that display of glee was there any real understanding of the tragedy of female mutilation???  The imagery this "art" installation evoked was one of horror and pain.  This was not "art" to teach and inform, this was mockery of Black women and racism, plain and simple!

Can we please pay attention to the fact that Linde decided that the color black was to be used as the skin tone of this degrading spectacle and not the color brown.  Black is a race designation of people and the various shades of brown represents skin tone!

With "brothas" like Makode Linde you know that Black women are own their own and need to always be on guard.  Those that are socially perceived as the closest to you in society will sacrifice you on an open fire if the price is right.  I am tired of ignorant self-hating Black males objectifying and disparaging Black females as a source of social, financial or political gain.  Makode Linde proves that the sickness that has infected the Black male collective doesn't have borders.

What other race of male publicly creates and defends this type of degradation towards the women in their racial group?  If lost Black men don't get some self-respect and start protecting and defending Black women they will cease to exist.

Take a look at the YouTube video and the comments if you can stomach it.  This F-O-O-L has the nerve to make screaming sounds (which sound more like a comedic yelp) as the cake is cut.    

I Don't Hate White People

White privilege is everywhere!

I  hate white privilege.

I hate white privilege that is wielded as a weapon in society to subjugate non-white people.   I absolutely despise the white privileged apathetic actions and behaviors towards racism.  The disdain that I have towards white privilege and it's assault on the lives of Black people is at times extremely close to the surface because in society at large there seems to be no conscious separation between white people and their privilege. 

Don't tell me racism doesn't exist and then proceed to have secret (nudge, nudge, wink wink) agreements to exclude non-white people from participating, living or working in areas that you consider to be yours. White Supremacy and its drainage leaves a sewage stink on everyone that chooses to engage in it and on those that are affected by it. 

White people that readily engage in white privilege become ignorant and insensitive automatically.  It is why they genuinely feel that they are entitled to feel only honor for their ancestors great "accomplishments."  Leave out the not so good way they garnered said accomplishments because that is not as important especially if it makes them look or feel bad.  "Those were different times" is a favorite response which basically means that they could care less what their privilege has done to inflict harm on others as long as they don't have to see it or address it.  It's all good.

I hate white privilege because white privilege expects me to readily and gladly show respect without question to people that did not consider me to be human being.  There is no explanation that would make me want to honor Thomas Jefferson or any of the various other slave owning "forefathers"?  Showing respect to white people that saw people like me as inferior, as chattel is definitely not on my bucket list. Jefferson's Declaration of Independence did not include me.  "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal"  Yes.  Everyone that looked like him.

The Constitution?  The original mAmerican document didn't include people that looked like me either.

Originally, the Framers were very careful about avoiding the words "slave"and "slavery" in the text of the Constitution. Instead, they used phrases like"importation of Persons" at Article 1, Section9 for the slave trade, "other persons" at Article 1, Section 2, and "person held to serviceor labor" at Article 4, Section 2 for slaves.Not until the 13th Amendment was slaverymentioned specifically in the Constitution. There the term was used to ensure that there was to be no ambiguity as what exactly the words were eliminating.In the 14th Amendment, the euphemism "otherpersons" (and the three-fifths value given a slave) was eliminated.

My respect is reserved for the people that were responsible for the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments and for the people that were invaluable in the pursuit of Civil Rights legislation.

Real progress for all citizens of this country won't happen until white privilege is abolished.  We must always choose to speak out and fight against all actions that are meant to keep non-white people's voices and rights quelled.  If not we will deal with unjust and disrespectful behavior from people that would like nothing better than to see non-white people relegated to roles of servitude that don't allow us to have a voice in how America evolves.  White privilege should never be tolerated.


Racism thrives because white privilege lives.  They both need to die.

Threatened??? The white privileged face of America setting the standard for ignorance.

This picture has been circling the internet for almost a week now and I have resisted posting on it because I wasn't calm and there have been some really great posts referencing it and what it implies here, here and here.  My initial reaction to seeing this wasn't any different from any other time that I have seen disrespect, towards Black people, born from the ignorance of white privilege and racism.  I want this post to be plain and direct and to include enough honesty and truth to choke the white privilege out of every white person that subscribes to that mindset.

Colorism vs Racism: Should we view them differently?

I have heard many black people say that it is different and that it is not the same thing.  Colorism was born from racism to accomplish the same goal of establishing superiority based on a sense power over those deemed inferior solely based on skin tone.  When black people decided to participate in colorism (the idea that the lighter black person is the better black person) it negatively altered how all black people felt about themselves and what they could do for themselves within their own race.  I will never understand a black person participating in this behavior considering the damage inflicted on all of our lives because of racism. 

The idea that colorism is only regional in the United States is laughable.  As if it is so impossible for colorism to majorly exist in more than the much talked about Southern region of the United States and not the others.  And considering the fact that we have allowed our popular culture to shape our views in very destructive ways we should all know that it is everywhere.  Southern people ain't got nothing on America as a whole.

I have seen colorism in all of the regions from many ethnic groups (as designed) and it at times seems unbelievable when you experience it even though you know it exists. Spending the second half of my formative years growing up in Northern Louisiana put me in a position to experience colorism often but not so often that it was able to damage my views on the issue.  It was frustrating to hear older people, boys, girls and even family members discuss the lighter skin/darker skin issue in a way that gave it more importance than it should have had. 

Colorism is something that I hate more than I hate racism because it is coming from not only the people that benefit from racism but it is also coming from the people that experience being negatively affected by racism everyday.  Black people destroying themselves with the very thing that their ancestors fought against is the definition of sad.  Wouldn't they be so proud that their sacrifice has brought about our slow and (at this point) certain destruction? 

We feed the monster, our current societal power structure, with our lives by choosing to support anything or anyone that tries to make this okay.  It is not okay for a person's self-worth to be defined by their skin color and for that skin color to be seen as anything other than God's plan for a beautiful and diverse society.

The obsession and objectification of the black female for social, political and financial gain

As the First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, is not even protected from the disgusting abuse of the black female in this society.  Racism is a ridiculous institutional concept that when combined with sexism is an unrelenting choke hold on black women with little relief.  Subjecting the black female to a life that is less than it should be and therefore creating a need to always be on the defensive for our own preservation.

People have written about how insulting and inappropriate it is for this man to objectify the First Lady in order to supposedly express his disagreement with her healthy eating initiative.  I could personally attack him for his deplorable behavior (but it would be way to easy) or I could detail the historical obsession and objectification of black females by white males and white society at large.  But I won't because those things would detract from what I think is really important.   

The black woman being continually attacked for the sole purpose of enrichment through black female degradation is a practice that needs to be abolished. 

The methodical efforts to permanently devalue the black female and their image in the minds of most people in society began long ago.   Those efforts have hindered black females being seen as human beings that are worthy of respect and protection even among the men of our own race.  It is precisely the reason why lost black men have no sense of urgency to ensure that black females are protected and the reason why lost black women have continued to submit themselves to the degradation.

To attack the First Lady in this manner screams fear and the masses are running scared because she is the epitome of black womanhood annihilating stereotypes with each step she makes.  I am proud that Michelle Obama represents us on a national level. 

The lost have been so desensitized like the majority of society and it has become expected and therefore a conditioned state of being to tear down black women.  Unfortunately, too many of our lost permeate popular culture creating a national level of dysfunction and disrespect for black women that has proven difficult to overcome.  Too many refuse to have higher expectations for those they choose to support and emulate.


What will it take for there to be complete solidarity in the fact that our success and future lies with the respect and protection of black women?

Imagine a World Where Every Black Athlete Walked Away

It's football Sunday and after reading an article on one of the media mafia's websites about the unbelievability of Sean "Diddy" Combs becoming an NFL team owner I couldn't resist flipping it a little and wondering what would happen to all those white owners if all black athletes were smart enough to leverage their economic power as a unit and walk out.  By the way, I don't give a damn about defending Sean Combs' ability to do anything because I consider him to be one of many infectious diseases that has corrupted one too many youth.


What would happen if all black athletes collectively chose to just walk away from their respective sport.  Take the time to think about that for a second.  Extreme madness, strokes and huge financial ramifications would occur and it would be epic.  I actually can't think about it without smiling a little.


The comment section had people defending Mr. Mabary by saying he was being satirical.  That may very well be what he intended (yeah right) but his use of the racist stereotypes tanked the satirical piece for me after that.  He crossed over into the same stereotypical racist BS that many white people have no problem doing because it is part of who they are in this world that has skewed so far white.

There’s also the issue of NFL owners, the oldest and whitest of old white guy clubs, being wary of a young owner with a dubious legal past and considerable media notoriety.

Why couldn't Sean Combs be an NFL owner? Debauchery and violence hasn't stopped this guy.  Anyway I will leave it to you to pick out the other racist elements of the article. 

The NFL and the NBA are billion dollar businesses where the players are 60% plus black and the owners are 99.9% white!  Everything that I see about this "business" dynamic reminds me of the history of plantation life both before and long after slavery. Yeah sure, the players make large sums of money but their salaries are NOTHING compared to the income of the white men behind the scene.

Too many black folks are extremely content with receiving money from white folks for funding instead of creating and pooling our resources so that we can have our own businesses that build up our communities and our people.  Think of all the industries that would implode--sports, music, fashion, cosmetic, hair care, entertainment, automotive-- if it were not for black people and black dollars.  Black people have yet to realize, control and benefit from our full economic power on a grand scale. It sure would be a beautiful thing to see.

To the 30% of You'll That Haven't Died Off...Yet.

I have been telling Black people for a long time that no matter what we do to better this country there are still a good majority of you'll (well I think its actually a smaller portion as more of you racists continue dying off..wooh-hooh) that will always consider the people who physically built this country as perpetual outsiders and yourselves as the rightful inhabitants of these United States of America. After all isn't that why history was "reworked" so that it favored the white race as the best thing to happen to the Americas;-).

That wonderful racist vitriol (you know like the word Ni**er) that always sits perched on the tip of your tongues just waiting for the opportunity to let it roll [leaving way too many of us Black people ready to fight] has me thinking about the quality and longevity of our relationship. I have to be honest and say that it is rather sad that after well over 400 years of us getting to knowing each other so up close and personal that Ni**er is the best that you've got...but hey...a well-rounded education hasn't really been a primary concern for a lot of you.

We are in the 21st century and there is a problem that I do have to make you aware of and that is the fact that we (Black people) aren't going anywhere. You'll have had well over three centuries to work this race based stupid shit out for yourselves but you're still lagging. Are we not trying to be helpful with your process as only we can in showing you what is possible by getting the first Black President elected. Get over it already! You people (If I may borrow one of your expressions) have continued to pass down to your generations the ridiculous idea that because our melanin levels are different that you are better.

I am just going to offer a little friendly advice. You should probably stop raising your clans to be racists-in-training because...well...time is moving on very quickly and soon you will be the minority (oops sorry, I know you'll don't like that word being applied to you) compared to those who actually do have common sense. Oh yeah right...education...education...education hasn't been a very big priority for many of you. So, to those of you that are receptive and want something more from your life (because it is past time) you have to step outside of your comfort zone and take the steps necessary to help yourself by pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps.

Well as long as those straps stay on your boots that is... because we wouldn't want you'll to get hurt out there in these different times and all.

The Truth Shall Set Us Free: Updated

Here we go again with no one in MSM or on some blogs wanting to call what Joe Wilson did when he yelled "you lie", in the confines of Congress, during President Obama's speech to the nation an act of disrespect soaked in the racism of the Confederate flag that he loves and all that represents for his kind because he [Joe Wilson] grew up being swaddled and cuddled in it by those elders [you know the racists] growing up. I don't usually like to blame everything on racism but in this case I WILL because that is what I believe bore his strong tainted indignation to do what he did.

Anywho... this post is not dedicated to that fool Joe Wilson (who should lose his reelection bid if constituents know how to do right by themselves) but to all the Black journalists, Black bloggers and non-black bloggers who feel the need to remain politically correct when addressing ANYTHING that is racially or possibly racially tainted. Why??? We can have a discussion about what we may think, right. That is supposed to be the foundation of having a dialogue that benefits all points of view?!

Remaining PC in these situations means that you want me to remain silent thereby showing sensitivity to a culture, system or person that could give a damn about reciprocating by being sensitive to our culture, our system, our person. In my previous post I spoke on this very idea that some Black people feel gagged and bound and try and tiptoe around the actual TRUTH of the blatant and disparaging differences made when it comes to the discussion of racism by not choosing to blowing the lid off the topic in public.

Lately we have wingnuts, crackpots, racists being able to speak out and receive soft glove consideration because they are wingnuts and crackpots. Just one problem with that...these wingnuts and crackpots are raising children to be wingnuts and crackpots so this cycle of believing that you have the right to debase another human being because of race doesn't stop.

What these wingnuts and crackpots don't obviously understand [because they are wingnuts and crackpots] is the fact that to teach your children to disrespect authority means that you are teaching them that you will become 'fair game' in that thought mentality if it serves your child's purpose. "Duh", as my daughter says, "why would parents do that because it doesn't allow the kids to learn to think for themselves".

DING, DING, DING! "Pumpkin (yes that is what I call my beautiful baby) because to allow their children to learn to think for themselves would be too great a risk because the world is changing and it terrifies them that all of the unnecessary hatred based on race, culture and social standing that they were fed from generation to generation could disappear".

The world still has a long way to go but I do believe it is changing when I see my daughter and her friends of all racial, social and economic backgrounds! Black people need to do their part and stop thinking that they can sit back and wait for it to happen. How do we do that, you ask? We do that by taking control over our lives as individuals by getting and as a people by getting EDUCATED because knowledge really is power which will create fabulous opportunities for ourselves and our communities!

Black People!!! Look around you, find a mentor and read books [education doesn't have to be "formal" for everyone] because Black people have contributed a great deal to this world that we live in and can continue to do more but only if we know the history of greatness of what we did before we came to this country and what we did after coming to this country.

Unacceptable. Unacceptable. Unacceptable. There is no excuse to sit back on our asses to wait "our turn" trying to be a part of something that isn't automatically inclusive of us in a manner that doesn't require us to integrate and ASSimilate into "white culture" compromising our identities which most certainly leaves behind who we are and what we uniquely offer that can enrich ourselves, our communities and the world!

The Truth Shall Set Us Free

I was sitting here today flipping channels watching various talking heads and the Chris Matthews show (well actually the show description) caught my attention. Chris Matthews and his panel of guests would be discussing: "Who is responsible for the heated rhetoric over President Obama's ethnicity?". There was not one black person on the panel!

When President Obama was elected MSM (yes Matthews included) was discussing whether black people could be expected to be objective when interviewing Obama or reporting on the Obama administration...but there can be a panel of "white" people discussing where responsibility lies for racist comments from racist "white" people regarding Obama's ethnicity objectively. Talking about a double standard of ridiculousness.

I watch black journalists on television discussing different issues and the issue of race always brings about this certain dance that a majority of black people know all too well when you have to balance you "real" self with your "corporate" self. (Full disclosure: I have always had great difficulty with that myself) Having to bite your tongue when a white person says something presumptuous, privileged or just ridiculously rude and still maintain a sense of decorum is damn hard. Just imagine the freedom in a world where black people didn't feel the need to do that.

Well, it actually exists right now but I think so many us behave as if we are still beholding to the "white man" for our existence like we are still on the plantation. Our ancestors were always thinking about what was most important and that was making it possible for themselves to make it as far as they could go in the world so that their children and their grandchildren and so on could go further. We have fallen down on our J-O-B! Just look at the state of our children, our churches and our communities. It is a disgrace. What happened to the enterprising and self reliant nature of our people.

Ugh... let's say what we mean and mean what we say. Sometimes there is just so much pretense when we are speaking out against anything that has to be done with righting wrongs... and for what. I hate pretense. Pretense is only necessary when you care about making white people comfortable about not addressing the ugly history of America and all that evolved from it. I could care less about making them comfortable.

There is not one white person feeling any sense of apprehensiveness about reaping the entitlement and privilege that they are automatically afforded by being born with white skin. Whether they are against "white privilege" or not they still readily welcome reaping the benefits of it. How do I know? Ask a white person if they want to wake up black and you will get a look as if you had two heads. White supremacy has scarred America in ways that black people still suffer under and we still have black people helping it to continue.

How sad it is that the organizations that were formed to ensure that black rights were always defended are shells now or should I say shell games!
